Police Plaque Ship-By Date Planner
Type the day the plaque has to be at the station, then a business-day allowance for unpacking, carrier transit, production and proof sign-off. The Shield Recognition estimator steps backward past weekends and prints the day each of those four stages must start. It is a date calculator and nothing more; no carrier is contacted, and your quote supplies the figures.
Build your plan
Enter durations from a current written quote and carrier service. Weekends are skipped; holidays, customs delays and carrier cutoffs are not modeled. A zero allowance means you explicitly allow no time for that stage.
The decision behind a department recognition order
Keep service recognition separate from the language of a formal commendation. The department should approve the exact title, badge details and public text. Where a plaque incorporates insignia, confirm the approved artwork and permission rather than recreating details from a low-resolution image.
Keep with your brief: Approved rank, unit, badge details and commendation text.

Arrival − receiving allowance − transit − production − proof review, subtracting entered weekday counts
The dispatch date is an arithmetic checkpoint, not a booked collection. If the carrier, production team or receiving contact cannot support a stage, revise that allowance and calculate again. For an international order, agree who supplies import information and receives carrier questions before approving the dispatch plan.
When must a plaque ship for a Friday walk-out?
An administrative sergeant is planning a walk-out for a retiring officer on a Friday afternoon. She wants the Police Retirement Plaque at the station by the Tuesday before, so there is time to open it and read the dates. She enters that Tuesday as the required date. From her Shield Recognition quote she copies the production figure and the transit figure for the station's address. She adds her own allowance for getting the proof past the watch commander. The estimator returns a ship date and, earlier, a proof approval date. The approval date is this Thursday, so she asks the records clerk for the sworn date today instead of waiting for the retirement order.
Check these details before using the result
- Entering the walk-out date as the target
- Use the day someone can open the box and check the engraving, which comes before the walk-out or dinner.
- Reusing last year's transit figure for the station
- Transit depends on the address and the service in the current quote. A figure from last year's awards order may not apply.
- Skipping city holidays
- Only weekends are skipped. If the station's receiving office closes for a holiday, add that to your allowance by hand.

Police Service Plaque
Start with the occasion and the presenting organization. Any badge number, rank or emblem should come from the approved inscription and artwork, with the final proof confirming the exact details the recipient wants displayed.

Police Service & Bravery Plaque
Use the exact honor approved by the department or presenting organization. If the gift is a general thank-you, say that plainly instead of describing it as an official bravery award or commendation.

Police Retirement Plaque
Choose the details the recipient values most, such as a unit or assignment, rather than listing an entire career. Confirm whether badge and rank information should appear on a gift intended for home display.

Badge-Style Acrylic Award
Supply authorized badge artwork if the shape needs to represent a particular department. Keep this decorative recognition distinct from an issued credential, and omit sensitive identifiers when the recipient prefers a simpler display.

Police Challenge Coin Display Plaque
Send the number, diameter and thickness of the coins before choosing holders. Decide whether the display should show one face or allow removal, especially when both sides carry meaningful artwork.

Does the ship-by planner hold a place in the production queue?
No. It works out police order dates from your entries and nothing else. No plaque order is opened and no carrier is booked. Use it to see whether a retirement date is realistic, then put the same dates in your quote request so the schedule can be confirmed in writing.
Which stage can a squad shorten if the dates do not fit?
Start with proof review, because that part belongs to the squad. One approver with the personnel record open can answer a proof quickly. Next, ask about a rush request. Production takes no more than 7 days at Shield Recognition, so the review before it and the transit after it are usually where a plan is tight.
Which buying guide should you read next?
All buying guidesFor worldwide Shield Recognition orders, turn a badge-shaped concept into an approved artwork brief without implying that every decorative shield reproduces an official badge.
Build the order around the approved occasion, recipient details and display location. A retirement plaque, a commendation and a shared department record should not inherit the same wording automatically. Keep authorized artwork and exact service dates attached to each proof.
For worldwide Shield Recognition orders, count the physical pieces for each law enforcement recipient without merging distinct awards or duplicating one combined gift.
For worldwide Shield Recognition orders, choose an open challenge-coin display when regular access and rearrangement are priorities, and a covered display when the owner wants a defined enclosure. Compare usable internal space, viewing access and the actual closure. A cover does not by itself establish preservation performance, security or included coins.
